It was found, that zinc sulphate posses strong 5 alpha-reductase [mainly type 1 isoenzyme] inhibition activity in skin.
Currently mechanism of its reductase inhibition activity is unknown.Inhibition activity depends from administered doze. At high concentrations, zinc could completely inhibit the enzyme activity. Its topical action was tested on the model of acne. No studies on androgenetic alopecia are known. At combine administration of azelaic acid, zinc sulphate and Vit. B6 90% inhibition of 5 alpha-reductase activity was obtained.
No studies on the model of human androgenetic alopecia is known. |
